The global transition towards a fully digitize economy has positioned Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as the primary engine of modern industrial and social operations. While digitalization streamlines global workflows and fosters economic growth, its environmental implications remain highly contested and profoundly complex. This research paper investigates the environmental footprint of the ICT sector through a meticulous, data driven analytical approach. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is also recognized as a critical tool for climate change mitigation, offering systematic solutions through automation, smart resource monitoring, and virtual substitution. This paper maps these conflicting dynamics to determine the net environmental outcome of global ICT adoption.
